He was being attacked and it was self defence. The issue is should he have been in that situation to begin with, and probably not. Because he was a minor, the culpability for that belongs with his parents, however.

It was clearly self defence and Kenosha had good lawyers trying to get him on murder and a jury of his peers all said it was self defence. He was being attacked. He shouldn’t have been there in the first place, but as a minor, his parents bear the responsibility for that.
