Friend who's been unemployed for 9 months thinks it's better to keep submitting the same resume that hasn't gotten him a job and just look more unhirable with time than it is to put that he's been a DJ (professionally framed ofc) that whole time

If youre not getting your interviews, you have an outreach problem, not a resume/experience problem. Tell him to talk to a fucking human being instead of sending resumes into the void

Then he doesnt have a resume problem. For most jobs it is cheaper to train the person on the skills that to teach them how to not be an asshole. Prove your not an asshole by talking to a human. Show up at the office (if its a small company-- big companies hire desk workers to tell you to fuck off) send emails, linkedin messages, fucking hand-written letters if he knows the persons address. Linkedin profiles will sometimes have the person's phone number and he can send them a text.

If he does this and it is actually a resume problem, the person will give him advice on how to improve the resume/pitch. Every person whos ever hired me has never seen my resume.

I'm not reading all that lol I get interviews easily and whenever I want them even when just applying on the website or on LinkedIn easy apply because I have a good resume. None of what you're saying matters
