It is way more than just feelings. What would you do if your son is born into a society taught to fear him for things other men do? They’re not gonna do it based off his actions or what he’s done to help. He’s born into being part of the problem
Men care more about their feelings than the safety of women. What a fucked up world we live in

Its silly to use these general statistics too, if we want to really “break down” the data theres going to be harsh realities associated with what groups of people get up to what. It also depends on what classifies as violence and where the reports come from

I’d educate my son not to rape women and to set an example of what kind of person to be. You don’t do good things so people like you you do them because it’s the right thing to do. And yeah, he is born into being part of the problem. But that’s the responsibility that comes to all of us men as being born into a system designed for men. Why the hell would the oppressed 50% of the population like any of us? We have the power to change that world. It’s not on women to do that. Educate your boys

Everyone just wants to use stats to push their bias one way or the other

And when they are educated, how will that change the way the world treats him? Men rape men too and like me, will he also be labeled a monster even when he suffers from other men? Labeled as submissive for being forced upon and not a “real man for sticking up for himself?”

You really think women are oppressed when a majority of colleges are majority women? And there are tons of initiatives for women and there is a ton of awareness around cases where women are abused?

You realize that by constricting “masculinity” you create guys who have no healthy outlets right? Just as how the Chinese in the past constricting feminity caused mass female baby murders there are likely people who have gotten abortions when their fetus is male

Okay idk if you’ve noticed but the people who call male rape victims “submissive” is nearly always men. They’re also the same people who say “pass the control” or “jealous” men don’t take rape victims of any gender seriously.

Yes I do think women are oppressed. Less men are going to college for a multitude of reason, including trade school. So saying that college alone is evidence is laughable. Women still experience higher rates of assault. Are completely under represented in leadership positions (please tell me the last time we had a female head of state) we are seeing the worlds largest push by red pill content to put women back in the house (they just escaped), womens healthcare is lacking. Yeah, they are

Talk to the patriarchy about restricting “masculinity” all they say is men can’t show emotions unless it’s anger and deter men from therapy and emotional intelligence

Yea I agree thats not masculinity. Both “masculine” and “feminine” are just used now to get people to submit and do what the other side wants

If you say in your sons life and raise him normally and engage his interests chances are he will develop into a well adjusted person without have some neurotic tendency about how girls perceive him

When I was raped, men didn’t call me submissive. It was usually women that did. The men would chalk it up to me being lucky but neither side had any ounce of empathy more than the other

Yep that’s why it’s important to advocate for holding rapists accountable. I fail to see how this proves me wrong. There are women who also protect men and there are men who protect women. The exception is not the rule and you deserve justice all the same as the woman from Cornell

I had my arm broken at a feminist rally because an outbreak accused the men attending of infiltrating the rally looking for sex. They didn’t take the time to look at the 3 years of work I had put in at organizations for the movement they immediately assumed I was a creep

I’m never going to see justice because I’m seen as part of the problem. I was raped by a family member and she’s still walking around to this day completely fine. I couldn’t even testify because I was scared of the backlash of both sides and then got more backlash for fake accusations just cuz I’m a man

Im sorry that happened to you but I see zero correlation with holding rapists accountable. You shouldn’t do things so women like you. You should do them because it’s the right thing to do. Since when did kindness become transactional

It wasn’t because women liked me. It’s that men don’t matter as allies. Men hating and fear mongering turned women against allies like me and my life was at stake for the causes I wanted to fight for because even if I was raped, even if I wanted justice for the women who were like me, I was still an enemy

I was shunned from the group I worked for when my clip circulated because they believed the women accusing us of being creeps. When I went to work for an organization in the state my cousins lived in, that clip followed me there. My gender mattered more than my actions and I don’t know how else to help or even seek justice for rape victims including myself because of a clip online

What do you do next? Can’t advocate with other men cuz male rape victims aren’t taken as seriously. Can’t advocate with the women cuz im seen as a creep. Can’t advocate for myself cuz both sides treated like it was my fault

I didn’t realize finding justice for people like me and finding community with these people I wanted to fight for was such a transaction and selfish behavior
