I’m scared my landlord may be too friendly. He frequently takes money off my rent & bought me a Christmas gift. Always asks to talk face to face. It’s only him & I living in the house so it makes me a bit paranoid

I used to live with a woman who I worked with and literally took her to dinner a few times, got her some bottles of wine, and sat to watch a few movies with her a couple nights per week. She never made me pay rent (I still did or else I would have felt bad) but I think I missed 2 months because I was traveling so much and she never said a word.
