I don’t understand the concept of going to hell if you kill yourself. obviously that person had to be so mentally ill to get to that point. you’d think God would have some compassion?

God wouldn’t do that. christian love to cherry pick and tell people what’s gonna happen to the wether it be killing them selves or them being gay. most of the time it’s because they don’t ever have to have the guilt in being seen differently by society. in the end i think as a society we need to talk about things like this more, and christian’s should try and be more open minded to hearing what other people have to say and expand their thinking because most of the time it genuinely feels like

I mean, that’s one of the many things about Christianity which make absolutely no sense and if true, would mean that “God” is straight up evil since why would he do that if he actually loved us. Like consider this in addition to your point: if everything that happens is “part of gods plan” and predetermined, then that means that person’s suicide is part of his plan and therefore he’s punishing them for something they had no ability to control. Thats why I know none of it is true.

it is believed because technically when you kys you don’t have time or the ability to repent for your sins. so people say you go to hell. however i truly don’t believe so. if you are a criminal getting chased and choose suicide instead of jail that’s different but i do believe God chooses to heal these people in heaven

Only way to hell is denying Jesus Christ as your lord and savior. We all fall short of the glory of God.

i fear i agree, we definitely have a creator but i don’t think it’s how religion describes it as. We didn’t come from nothing yk, but how religion describes it is sooo weird and i feel it’s a way for people to be tamed and taught into doing good, you don’t need religion do have morals yk

I agree with most of that, besides the stuff about us definitely having a creator and all that, but it’s okay to not agree on everything, especially since we agree on the most important things like that last line.

I always thought about what would happen if you repent before you kill yourself. Makes me think of the story where that criminal was next to Jesus during his crucifixion sought him out & was sent to heaven. Like can we redeem ourselves right before death? Granted I know he didn’t kill himself.

yeah they’re definitely valid thoughts. like if God knew how much someone suffered in life you’d think he understand if they decided to self exit. but banishing them to hell where they would endure even more suffering seems cruel & tone deaf. I also just don’t understand the basis on which we’ll be judged by. If humans are inherently sinful people then why are we being judged for sinning? So just a competition of who sins the least ?? 😭

I agree, there are many contradictions within Christianity that can be quite confusing. However, the common response is that "people have free will." So how do God's plans coexist with free will? Why do some individuals endure tragic lives and constant suffering? What kind of plan accounts for that? It’s so confusingggg

Very true this world is too vast & intentional for there not to be a creator. But it’s hard not to question the bible & the beliefs around religion.

exactly why i believe there’s a creator but not in religion, i feel as religion was made to tame us in a way and make us do right but it’s gotten out of hand. but we do have a creator just not as any religion describes it. God is a concept that no human will ever understand, how it works, how it created the world etc, but maybe we weren’t meant to and that’s okay

it’s okay to question. because it’s a concept that we aren’t supposed to understand. yes religion this religion that and people are gonna believe what they want but no one will 100% understand or know how God works or what it is or how it came about, but we do know how the concept of religion was created, and it’s up to you what you do with that knowledge.

thats true like if you jump off a bridge…on the way down if you repent what would happen? usually ppl who commit though are not of sound mind so i think in that circumstance jesus would forgive you.
