i just don’t feel maternal at all. i never want kids. i see people always seem to act so parental towards kids that aren’t even theirs and i just don’t understand. if i have a baby cousin or something over, everyone’s alway fussing over them.

like “do you need help getting your shoes on?” or “how was swimming buddy did you have fun?” i just feel no desire to speak to kids or be near them. they come up to me and say things and i’ll smile and go “wow cool” but i really don’t want them to be talking to me

I don’t feel any type of maternal drive whatsoever either, but tbf both those examples are just people looking out for and being deliberately warm + friendly with a kid, which I think all of us probably ought to aim for

well if there’s someone else on top of it i’m not worried about it. but i’m just saying it always feels very awkward when i’m in that situation. i’m not usually bc im not a parent or an aunt. but i see other people being like that for their nieces and nephews and i feel awkward thinking about having to be like that with my own nieces and nephews in the future. i’m not looking forward to it
