I had surgery yesterday and I woke up and my dad was gone and I just found out it’s so he could go ride his motorcycle and I’m actually crying wtf

Bros out there like this while his daughter is crying in the hospital lmaooo But what do you expect you’re grown and he’s got no reason to stay for 8 hours if you’re just gonna be asleep and everything’s okay Let him ride

Dude even if you left while she was in surgery, the nurses will call you once she is out to let you know to come back before she is awake. You also wake up around 20 min - 1 hour after surgery normally (unless the surgery was like 3+ hours then you’ll likely sleep longer)

The point of someone else being there during the surgery is to be there when you wake up and also to take you home (because the nurses will notify people that your surgery went well or poorly if you request that). Seeing as he only brought a motorcycle he clearly wasn’t taking her home so he failed at the one thing he went there for

Being grown has no effect on how difficult it is to go through surgery alone. The meds mess you up a lot when you wake up and it’s really taxing on your body so having someone there when you are waking up is really important.

No shit that’s why I said he failed at the one thing he was supposed to be there for: aka being there for her. Literally the whole purpose of him being there since he obviously wasn’t taking her home

my dad was there bc I begged him to be and he didn’t even wait until I was awake and that’s fine but I’m allowed to be upset he left the hospital to go to a motorcycle rally

But instead of waking up and having someone there to help her, to keep her company and regulate after the surgery, or to help her by getting her water or tissues or calling a nurse in, she had to be alone in bright white sterile rooms while coming out of all of the medications and only had nurses stopping in every once in a while to take care of her.

That’s so dumb. I’m really sorry he didn’t stay. Your parents should want to be there to help you go through something like this or at least let you know in advance they won’t be there when you wake up
