Normalize dudes being able to compliment people without everyone assuming we wanna fuck them. I’m tired of saying “My mom is beautiful.” Or “My sister is beautiful.” And ev1 looking at me like a I’m a pervert. Like I can’t just compliment someone? Damn😭

Yee. Although some girls do it too. In Mexico the guys and gals kiss each other on the cheek to greet each other. And so do families. But I’ve been judged before by ladies like “you have a weird relationship with your aunt don’t you?” Just because I hug my family and kiss them on the cheek to greet or say goodbye doesn’t mean I’m playing sweet home Alabama hahaha. Porn and the loss of human connection has messed this world up.

Honestly it happens even when I say a guys handsome or something and I’m straight. People look at me weird and I’m like what I can’t recognize physical attractiveness and not mean I want to have sex with the person?

Literally. I’m bi so it’s kind of a different scenario, but I’d say a celebrity is attractive and people would think that’s my type. Like no, Chris Hemsworth is super attractive but not my type. I can’t just say bros handsome?

One of the most freeing things I’ve learned is - we can only meet people to the degree to which we’ve met and understood ourselves. So usually when someone says something, me including, they’re analyzing it from their experience, which like duh that makes sense. But it’s helped me not take anything personal. Like if I hug my sister and they’re weirded out by that, that’s a projection of something they got going on. If I comment a guy is handsome and they’re like ooh what’d he mean, same deal hah

Oh yeah for sure! It can also be a societal thing that they are expected to question it. At least from my experiences with people
