Genuinely who were dating apps made for? Between passport mode, pictures that you can’t clearly see the persons face, people who don’t answer the profile questions, and people who swipe right to then not message you or attempt a conversation, you cant win

they are an illusion meant to capitalize off of the rampant miscommunication of modern society and make us feel like we need third parties to facilitate genuine connections

The two problems with this are that 1. there are so many people who genuinely do meet each other off these apps so it’s difficult to completely discredit them, and 2. the older you get and the more cautious you are about safety, the less opportunities you find to meet someone and make a genuine connection. All of that aside, there’s a lot of people who don’t understand the “league” of attractiveness they’re in and will immediately discount potential suitors based on physical characteristics .
