If you’re a working person with no car & don’t pay for rent there’s no reason you shouldn’t have $20k saved minimum.

Twenty thousand dollars minimum in this economy is so unrealistic bro. We live in hell we’d be lucky to have two hundred dollars total

I know a few people in this predicament & I just don’t understand why they’re so broke. You have no major financial commitments.

If someone’s a working person with no car, how are they getting to work. Let’s say the area is kinda developed so public transportation if available is at minimum $5 a day for there and back that’s $25 a week. Maybe $100 or $125 a month, but let’s take it further, area is not developed next option uber or Lyft or taxi which is always more expensive between $10-$15 a ride for a short commute, $20-$30 a day, $100-$150 a week, $400-$600 a month. Yeah that adds up.

It’s not unrealistic especially with NO big financial commitments. The economy is tough but it’s not an excuse for everything. Sometimes people are just bad with money/lazy. I work, go to school, live alone, finance a car & have $10k saved, in my early 20’s. If I lived at home & had no car my savings would be doubled. It’s possible

Buses are dirt cheap. $100 a month is nothing. Lot less cheaper than having a vehicle. Less developed areas aren’t likely to have uber over a bus system. & if someone is paying $400-$600 a month on Ubers then it’s cheaper to get a vehicle at that point, which is just bad financial management.

Yes but you have to already have the capital and credit for a car are you ignoring that, some people portion parts of their check for their transport. No one is paying $10k for a 10 yr old car anymore more like a 15 yr old car that at minimum has 150k miles on it. My car is almost 15 yrs old 178k miles on it great condition as is; I could sell it for 10k plus right how great I took care of it. Also once again developed areas have buses, what about none you ignoring most of America is rural.

With no big financial commitments there’s no reason you shouldn’t have a decent credit score as an adult. Like you’re so committed to making excuses for ADULTS. if you don’t have credit, find a co-signer! Lots of affordable used vehicles less than $10k. All I hear is excuses, but hey let’s keep infantilizing adults lol. I work damn hard for everything I have because no one is going to save me & I’m not a victim.

Most people enter college with no credit because they’ve never had a line of credit or a credit card or loans under their name; riddle me this how do you get a credit score if you have no line of credit nothing to your name. Get a cosigner some people don’t have access to someone to do so. There are not affordable good used cars under 10k less than 10 yrs old. Here goes that tired old victim mentality idea that everyone just wants to be a victim.

It’s true though, if you truly want something you’ll figure out a way to make it work. Most people aren’t willing to put in the hard work. So yes it’s a victim mentality.

Yes put yourself in debt to get out of debt is figuring out a way to make it work, bravo. Your lack of real work understanding is showing.

Or don’t do either & bitch about not having a car & no money in your savings. That’s always an option too
