No, I mean like a molecule or substance that gives one nearly the same exact effects as alcohol! Something that gets you drunk without killing your neurons/giving you brain damage, slaughtering your liver, causing cancer, etc etc Something that wouldn't even cause hangovers

It sounds like a good idea but I’m going to be honest. My dad is an alcoholic and gets extremely mean and abusive when he drinks and I’ve never known him 100% sober as a beer is what he grabs first thing in the morning and only thing he drinks. As bad as it sounds, it’ll be a relief when his drinking catches up to him and does kill him so he can no longer hurt others :/ he refuses to give up alcohol because he doesn’t think he’s the problem he thinks everyone else is

This is a v good point- I've known some alcoholics that have ONLY been in rehabs and ish bc of the very serious health problems they grapple with, they don't gaf about all the harm and pain and destruction they've caused. They actually put this idea in my head, how many of them said 'If there was something just like alcohol that didn't kill you, my life would be perfect'. It'd be dope af for solo alcoholics, but yeahhh for people with families, maybe not so much.

Maybe this synthetic alcohol dupe wouldn't cause the aggressive, horrible behavior that a lot of alcoholics exhibit. Alcohol works by killing your brain cells pm, a neurotoxin that poisons you into delirium which makes some ppl very angry and horrible sometimes (or all the time). Something with only the positive effects would be awesome. My aim is that. Relaxation, lowered inhibitions, feelings of joy and gid. Without the rest. If someone turns into a horrible person on this substance, that'll

Just mean that they're a horrible person with their inhibitions lowered. I'm really sorry you've had to live with that :( As awful as it is, if it's any comfort, it 1000% WILL catch up to him and he's going to suffer very badly.
