Anyone else when they get hurt get angry first then cry? I feel like this isn’t talked about enough and I lowkey need to get better about controlling emotions 😅

apparently anger is a secondary emotion. it's a reaction to another emotion. anger is usually a defense mechanism for what is often actually sadness or fear. i think it's our chimp brain making sure that we're safe before we let our guard down.

I only cry when i’m angry or randomly cry emotionally to some sporadic shit lol. You aren’t alone and yes it’s most definitely not talked anout amongst men or anyone honestly this day and age. But soon as you speak honestly about it or openly you’re trolled or bullied i to oblivion.. just the times we live in and it’s sad.

Okay thank you! I cry from the build up of things but it’s always anger first and I hate crying while angry because it makes me feel weak. I’m also a girl so I feel like it’s even more weird.

usually, the anger is the reaction/defense, and what comes after the anger is the truth. don't ignore the sadness, it deserves to be listened to. i've had my own experiences with this same thing. it's normal and healthy to feel that way, and it's good to let it out, cry, and then move on

Couldn’t have said it better. Anger/honesty is a tandem response in majority of all situations where verbal conflict arises.. while it’s not intentional, most tend to have an initial angry response backed with honesty then leads to an apologetic also honest opinion. Human psychi/ brain is a very odd and fragile thing. But communication and honesty is ALWAYS best option/outcome
