trip 1 spent the night in fort meyers florida and san fran trip 2 (apr6-8) spent 24 hour in san diego (worked red eye back) trip 3 i’ll work 3 flights then 33 hr layover in tampa trip 4 I work a lot of flights lol, short layover in kansas city and then like 18 hr layover in madison wisconsin (I oddly love it there lol)
It seems like such a good job. If u dont mind i have a few questions cuz ive considered this before😅Any reasons someone might not want to? Do u have the energy to explore during layovers? Are the people you attend on flights(?) rude? Also is the pay enough for u to enjoy urself when u get time off? Oh and abt how many hours a week would u say u work?
ngl, there could be a hundred novels written about reasons not to, this is the kinda career people seem to either passionately LOVE or HATE. weird sleep schedules, strain on relationships, not a job for homebodies, the first years = smaller wages many feel. i’ve encountered my own issues, but to me they are nothing compared to the benefits. sorry that’s vague but the best way I could put it lol
Q2: in my opinion, I barely encounter issues with passengers. i’ve worked customer service jobs idk 7-8 years before I became flight attndt. these are the easiest ppl ive ever dealt with lmao. but many ppl I work w disagree lol, in my experience they haven’t usually worked with worse customers like elderly ppl in restaurant industry 😂 to me that was 10x worse, and still not too bad. but truly if you have positive energy, you’ll get it back tenfold
as for the pay, this was my first real job outta college. i’m a frugal gal. at first it actually felt like I was stacking coin 😂 I lived a crazy first living situation tho, shared a small aptment w 3 others from training in the most affordable base. I can see how ppl say the money is tight, but if you’re single with no dependents and not a crazy spender, the money isn’t too bad at all. esp cuz u work way less than office workers. or if u want $ u can work more haha.
as for how many hrs a week, can vary greatly. summer and holidays are BUSIERRRR. but still, not as much as my office friends lol. i’d say like i’d be outta town 4-5 days a week max, sometimes only working 1 short flight a day tho, then having like 17hr to run around a city for free + enjoying free hotel. now im 2yr in, I only HAVE to work 40 hours in the sky A MONTH. which for someone like mei love cuz I don’t like working a lot and am luckily frugal enough I never have to work >75 flight hr/mont
