Guys, I feel like voting in the US is so pointless. What’s the point if the electoral college has more power than us? We the people don’t actually have power

voting has never liberated anyone. that’s why you create networks or support and mutual aid outside of the government. citizens are in a social contract with the government and the govt has broken it, making participation in it useless and a waste of time

It is way more power than nothing. And it has no power if people don’t do it.

When you vote for president, you are actually casting a vote for your representative in the electoral college. The electoral college exists to ensure that lower-population states and counties have some level of say on who becomes president. Urban interests differ wildly from rural interests, and rural interests are what feed urban mouths. It’s important that both have a voice

a govt that doesn’t house, feed, or keep people alive just creates a militarized surveillance state

Exactly! Time and time again the government has gone against its own constitution. Yet still they claim we have constitutional rights. Our freedom is a hoax

they’ve defunded education for decades and they’ve disabled people through failing public health and purposeful pollution so people are less capable to help themselves

But it’s not right for the actions of the electoral college to overrule the popular vote. Taking away the power of votes isn’t the way to protect the interests of rural communities. Proper education can do that, education that’s not being provided

I agree that voting is powerful, but the electoral college takes weight away from our votes, which is wrong. We need to fight for a fair voting system

Agreed but please still vote in the meantime!
