Like all women face similar discrimination but how it affects them is different and those differences have to be discussed. You can’t support women and not support trans women because violence against trans women encourages violence against cis women. The issues women face are not a zero-sum discussion it’s important to recognize overlap to make any progress
There is a lot of overlap. People seem to forget that trans women are women and will always be a part of the conversation— not to say they should be the most dominant though, which for the most part they aren’t. Transphobia towards trans women is a very weird mix of almost everything, misogyny, homophobia, and even racism. Transphobia has been feeding a lot into misogynistic rhetoric and toxic beauty standards. We’ve literally seen non white women be harassed and abused on the basis of (con)
Trans women’s issues aren’t more or less important. Trans women’s issues should be discussed and addressed because of the role transphobia plays in misogyny and vis versa. The discrimination both groups face can be very different though, but in the end both are in fact women. The only reason they’re becoming more of a popular topic than before is because they’ve became a political straw horse the rights been using to scare people. Your feels are valid, but you should process why you feel way
