Unfortunately you gotta pay for your local services somehow. That said those things are taxed at the local level, so they are the easiest to change. You just gotta show up & be present - though it would be better if loval goverments weren’t so reliable on local funding.

Off grid living you can get your own water and power, get on septic and haul your own trash. You don’t HAVE to deal with local municipalities

It’s not for local municipalities , its for service like schools (which provide shelter during emergencies, polling locations, public meeting space, child care, ect), libraries (polling locations, public meeting space, public education, free computers), and emergency services such as police and fire. The best way to off set the cost of a school would be for more federal funding - but the current administration is misappropriating funds so it put more strain on you at the local area.

…these are usually coveted by property taxes. Which I pointed out. People who run off to the woods aren’t living in an urban or suburban area with these specific taxes. They’d be living in unincorporated county land

Those services are not just for urban & suburban areas dude. Even people in the woods need to educate their kids and have needs for access to resources during emergencies.
