What was the purpose being fat served? (I promise I’m not being mean I’m fat rn too but I can’t find any purpose in it)

Well i went through a really tough time with really bad things happening both to me and around me. Being fat versus other more harmful actions i couldve done from depressed and all that. It served the purpose of keeping me around until i was ready to tackle life again basically. Hope this made sense
