As a black girl who moved from Boston to Arizona… if it’s any consolation it could be much much much worse. In az for 2 years, I don’t have a single friend. People openly exclude me, bully me, and ostracize me. Boston is so fun with so many things to do and you sound like you’re brilliant!! I promise you you are strong enough to overlook that. 🫶🏾

Maybe we were in different environments I never had issues in boston, on the contrary the older white ladies were always so nice and helpful. But I promise i’m not trying to invalidate. Just giving you something that might make you smell the flowers even if there’s shit in the grass! At least u have some flowers to smell lol

also like if its that bad i honestly would look into med schools in areas with more black people... this state is so fucking white and it sounds like its not good for ur mental health. u gotta take care of urself even if that means going to a different med school than you thought you would

Tbh no fucking clue, alls As, honors + AP classes, clubs, volunteers, i had a huge passion for medicine and hosted a blood drive with 100+ people with my friend, worked with the mayor in my city (my district was very good with getting kids involved) literally prob no different from other kids who’ve applied it’s a lottery system at the end of the day (was 17/560 in my senior class)

Harvard hands out full rides a lot tbh (I know lots of people who’s parents make good money who also have one)…… Like there’s so much funding bc the kids there are extremely rich international kids or americans who’s parents own stuff like Microsoft Excel, FIFA, apple, cheesecake factory (some crazy examples)

Congrats to him that’s amazing! harvard has a huge arab/south asian population (boston in general does) so I don’t see anything bad happening, (didn’t mean to scare u with my post)😭, but generally if you’re brown passing ppl clutch their bags, the side eyes, not wanting to conversate, just the typical microagressions. I dated an arab actually and he did say the Logan airport does pat ppl down with arab names
