I don’t really understand people who read the same kind of wish fulfillment romance slop over & over. If I have a concept I want to explore I just create my own characters & play around w scenarios in my head.

I’m also convinced the readers who enjoy that stuff have never had good sex but that’s another conversation

I’ve never read any of the stereotypical romance smut books but I’m guessing it’s the same as to why some enjoy Ao3. People have ideas and scenarios in their head but they’d rather read it out instead of write it. Honestly, I kinda admire the way some can just turn their brain off and enjoy reading for the sake of it

I think they’re very different. Ao3 gets so specific, there’s something for every freak out there. I’m talking about the popular trad pup titles that just shallowly rehash the same corny tropes ad nauseam. Brain off is fine to an extent, but idk how people don’t find the repetition from book to book excruciatingly boring. Like Fourth Wing? Every sex scene in those books is identical. Powerless is just a collection of scenes where they hold knives to each other. It feels so hollow and lazy.
