Idk, it’s just another one of those things where gay people start catching strays when the conversation was never even about them. And it’s the ally who takes the conversation there in these cases which in turn sets the stage for homophobia. Can’t we just stay focused on the actual problem, which is the straight guy being misogynistic?

Never said that gay men couldn’t be misogynistic. I agree. I’ve seen it, I’ve lived it. We are on the same page there. I just see this conversation a lot coming from specifically straight men and somehow it always comes back to being a gay person’s fault. All I’m saying is be conscious of how this comes off

he said he prefers having a dick not that he prefers getting with dick. i think both of you have a point but i agree with #11 that spreading the idea that “hating women” makes you gay is kinda in the same space as “he’s a boy not a man.” it dismisses the actual problem, which is men being misogynistic, and him hating a women’s body is a manifestation of that, not necessarily him liking men. i understand where you’re coming from but i think it’s a bit counterintuitive in this argument

I agree. Though dismissing an entire homogeneous group, i’d say is childish. We should be attacking the christian patriarchal system that’s been destroying the social environment across the US, rather than blame each other. Yes, what this guy IS *very* weird and childish, but when someone shares their opinion, and you respond with “I don’t care,” you’re not helping anything progress. Unless your goal is suppressive control of either men or women, hate and vengeance is counterintuitive.
