So tired of people making traveling their identity. Traveling isn’t a hobby… you just have a lot of disposable income and free time

It’s a hobby. You are investing time and energy to something you enjoy. Cause by that logic exercising isn’t a hobby cause you’re supposed to do it

Just because it’s usually expensive doesn’t mean it’s not a hobby

We might as well declare day drinking, shopping, laying in the sun and napping hobbies too

Yeah those could also be considered hobbies if people do them on a regular basis for entertainment

Traveling is def not a hobby. Most people want to travel and see cool places and more than most people are not privileged enough to have the money or time to do that

Again just because it’s usually expensive doesn’t mean it’s not a hobby. Lots of hobbies are expensive and unattainable for people with less money, but besides that you can still enjoy traveling without being rich, there are just more limitations

That’s a privileged perspective. I would say most people definitely can’t get the time to really “travel” far enough to make it super exciting def to call a hobby and even if they did have the time the budget would kill it. But what makes it not a hobby is the fact that everyone wants to do that they’re just too busy and broke bc they’re not privileged. It’s like how some people say shopping is a hobby. No everyone likes to buy stuff they want but some people have to afford food and electric

I don’t even have my own car yet traveling is still a hobby to me because I like occasionally going on trips with people and walking around new places in my community. Traveling doesn’t have to be just flying out to Paris or something lol. By your logic nothing is a hobby because there’s someone out there who can’t do it the “right” way in your mind

Like I’m sorry but just because you can’t do something the way you want to doesn’t mean it’s not a hobby

In translation “I am privileged enough to have time away from work and money likely not all made from me to do something and am privileged enough to have a job that lets me wrong remotely but despite my luck I will be toxic and spread hate to those who are less fortunate with jobs and financially “
