You can still make it work regardless. I’m an immigrant who started off with a very poor family somehow we managed to work our way up. Not everyone is going to have equal opportunity you play the cards your dealt and do the best you can.

You’re not entirely correct. Economically big business makes better products for a lower price. THATS why home businesses can’t compete. There are hundreds of hours of videos on the internet testing new products compared to old. Every single modern item is either the same price but way better, the same quality but way cheaper, or some mix of both. In terms of monopolies, the government is supposed to crack down on that since it is illegal, but our current president removed the head of the ftc

See the problem with that is I feel like the government involving themselves in businesses, including big businesses is infringement of free enterprise. There’s really no good solution because the whole motivation for being a business owner is becoming the “big dog” and getting most of the business, and making lots of money. That that incentive out of the equation and nobody cares to own businesses anymore and that leads us to socialism where the gov needs to own the businesses

Well I don’t think we should be afraid of mild socialism just because of stigma. HAVING a government puts you somewhere on the socialist spectrum. We just to find the right balance

I don’t think they SHOULD but that’s where it would send us if there’s no incentive to be a business owner, somebody needs to own the businesses for the country to run so the government would HAVE to intervene

I’m not sure how I feel about mild socialism. I’m tired of paying taxes for OTHER people’s health benefits and not being able to afford healthcare myself. It’s ridiculous. I think if you pay for it via taxes then you should get the benefit

I feel like you’re making it out to be black and white. There’s a fine line between giving businesses free rein to do whatever they want and putting so many regulations on them that they can’t function. There is a law already in place saying that a business cannot operate with competition (the foundation of capitalism). All I’m asking is that the law be enforced

Well again we don’t have to go full socialism. There are obvious issues with the healthcare system that can be fixed without the state taking over the industry. Regulations can help when we focus our voices instead of just trying to oppose the other guy

It’s an interesting take, I really don’t have an argument against it right now. My point really was to explain what’s “wrong” with capitalism. Sometimes I agree with the take I explained and sometimes I agree with capitalism, I really haven’t quite formed a solid opinion yet

I think everyone completely agrees that we want low taxes and fair prices for services. I think the argument is more “how will we get there”

I have nothing against people having a ton of money, I’m against that money basically being a get out of jail free card and letting people change how I live my life
