They literally think that compensating ppl for their labor (like the bare minimum, legally required compensation) is some sort of huge grand gesture, and that wanting anything more is greedy and belligerent (even just wanting basic 'thank yous'). I find myself revolted. Why am I, a bitch who can barely afford her shitty apartment on the outskirts of KENSINGTON, able to dip into my own pocket to do nice things for the staff? But these millionaire CEOs can't so much as dip into their own pockets-

I mention a staff party and these men just chortle and say 'Those people don't deserve anything. They don't appreciate anything. Fuck them.' Bar for bar. Then I stress how "Uh....wtf are they appreciating? Basic compensation for their labor? Y'all do realize that YOU'RE supposed to show your staff appreciation for running your business?' And it turns into very ugly arguments very quickly. 'Appreciation for blessing them with employment! You talk about how tough times are rn, well they should be

The ceo of my company is a great guy. It’s a big company too. He has monthly meetings that anyone can join and ask him anything. He treats everyone like they are his equal

Omg where do you work?? That's so refreshing and beautiful to hear 😭🙏 At my one venue, me and a floor manager (going over the owners heads) are setting up a nice meeting w food and drinks to ask the staff what they'd like/to voice all their complaints and such My other venue, I'm making every staff member personalized gift baskets But again, this is stuff the CEO and them should be doing or charging someone they're actually paying well to do. But nope.

I won’t say but I work from home at an insurance company, but it’s one of the big ones. We only cover businesses as a whole, like the insurance a business offers their employees
