Some of these kids are dumb because the parents don’t give a shit and the schools are just passing them because they’re don’t want to deal with them. The “No child left behind.” Is the worst thing that could have been done.

No fr. No child left behind was horrible. I was deaf as a kid and it horribly impacted my learning because the teachers didn’t know how to help me. I eventually got surgery and can hear but I was held back one year because I was so behind. If I wasn’t held back i would have been so behind and would have struggled. I think one of the reasons no child life behind was implemented was because there is such a stigma around being held back but it’s better than kids graduating who can’t even read.

it’s not because they don’t want to deal with them it’s because if not enough people r getting passed funding gets taken away. i agree the act was a horrible idea but most schools can’t risk getting funding taken away

No child left behind should’ve been more support towards the students and not the teachers getting away with responsibility…good idea, horrible execution

And the sad part is the parents don’t care they don’t fight. They don’t get involved and then act like they never knew their child was failing. We send emails, newsletters, reminders, report cards. We call they don’t even show up to the conferences. We even try and make way for these kids to get tutoring.

i’m an education major rn and i had been doing observation in a fifth grade class a couple of weeks ago and i’m not exaggerating but the majority of those kids couldn’t even tie their own shoes…

especially now when a lot of kids can barely read and write, there absolutely needs to be reform but we can’t point fingers at teachers and individual schools for being the reason why that is happening

Most times it is the admin and teachers. You got children that are acting out and are failing. They don’t want to deal with them anymore so they pass them and let them graduate
