Google was the pinnacle of SWE in the 2010s but its rapidly approaching IBM status of relevancy. They lost the plot when they sneakily ditched the “don’t be evil” motto and gave the reins from engineers to pencil pushers. Their moat is eroding and I can’t say I feel sorry for them. Most of what they’ve done this decade is a net negative for society.
