Rarely, but yes. Probably depends on the domain / company though. IMO domain knowledge, general software engineering and language best practices, and architecture are more important on the day to day.

I’ve probably faced maybe a dozen or so interesting problems that required some cool DSA stuff over 10 years as a SWE. Most of the time it’s just making sure you pick the appropriate data structure from the standard library. Readability and maintainability are almost always more important than cleverness.
