I feel terrible saying this because I'm one of the lucky ones with a job right now, but I'm thinking about quitting and becoming an electrician. I can't deal with corporate bull shit the rest of my life

Junior going for a B.S. in CS with a concentration in cybsec. I got an internship working with scada systems at a gold mine last year and all the guys told me to be an instrument tech. Seriously have never been so conflicted in my life😂

Depending on where you live. You may want to consider checking into the Ibew in your area. Better benefits than working for just some random contractor.

For a little context, I worked as a helper for an electrician for 2 years while I was in college and loved it. I'm sure if you hadn't seen both white collar and blue collar lifestyles you might regret your choice to do a trade. Having seen both, I actually regret going to college.

Also heavily depends on the type of electrician u want to be. Some of those guys go to sites in the middle of nowhere for months at a time, while some do local contracting. Broad field just like CS
