coding itself is a very small component of the job. being able to navigate strategic discussions and negotiate competing priorities is a critical aspect of software development. and has a huge impact on what you’ll eventually end up coding lol

The reason 99% of CS majors can’t get a job is cause y’all are awkward as fuck. Ain’t nobody wanna work with the mfs who never talk. Social skills and networking got me an internship after 2 applications, never even done a leetcode in my life.

A large part of a devs job is code reviews/ demos where you present the work you’ve done. Having presentation/communication skills is incredibly important for that. You really only spend 1/4 of your time actually making changes to the code, the rest is discussions and presenting
