(Although to be fair I work for a private family owned clothing business. I’m expecting the slightly lower pay at a not-explicitly tech job as a trade off for not being driven by the stock market)

SWE internships? if so, then yeah just do relevant stuff so you can put on your resume: CS clubs and organizations, teaching assistant for CS class, research assistant, personal and group projects, hackathons, etc.

I am relatively new to formally learning systems, I was always kind of just doing it as a hobby but now I want to turn it into a job. Any local groups or social media ones you recommend?
