Did y’all’s professors actually teach? Mine fucking refuse to give any actual useful information on how to do anything they describe. So tired of being told the vague steps to do something but no actual commands. Hate this degree so so much.

I feel like so much of comp sci is “teach yourself and we’ll assist” seriously though and this goes counter to EVERYTHING YOU WILL LEARN IN CLASS. Use chat GPT to help you study, it’s really fucking good at it. Like make it quiz you, and teach you, because you can ask it questions in the moment at 3am and not email your professors waiting for a response 12 hours later. It’s literally on demand tutoring.

I feel like it’s the double edged sword. Incredible to learn from, but also so tempting to just ask it to solve the problems for you. That said, it probably would have helped phenomenally with all the problems I had with 90% of my classes when I didn’t understand what was going on, because my brain decided to check out on a Tuesday afternoon.

Seriously, play the game “The farmer was replaced” and tutor yourself with Chat GPT and you’ll have the skill set of a basic entry level jr softwear dev. (No promises there’s jobs for that right now though)
