
i agree it’s kind of depressing now. it used to be like an art, i was good at making amazing app ui with nice animations and all. debugging was also fun especially when you finally fix a bug late at night and everything works and now you can sleep in peace. now anyone can do almost what i can do except 100x faster. it went from being kind an art to being “how fast can we push out this feature”. it makes sense from a productivity standpoint for sure, but not from a personal/hobby view
Very interesting full circle though. 20 years ago you hired a web person to manage your website, now you have a UX specialist, a front end developer, a back end developer, a conversion rate specialist, and the list goes on, AI is turning people back into generalist roles, by itself specializing in all those roles.
