IMO the worst thing about college football is the brand bias. In a playoff system where a committee picks the teams, the fact some teams get selected just because of their logo is stupid and it lowkey ruins the sport for me. No other sport has this

Professional sports leagues have like 30 teams. College basketball has a 68 team tournament. College football is unique because it has 136 teams and huge talent and competition discrepancies. Picking the best teams can’t always be based on record so they have to consider other metrics. They aren’t picking based on brand but you may perceive it that way

Overall the evolution has been positive. The champion used to be picked by polls. Then it was a championship game of the top 2 bcs. Then we got a 4 team playoff now 12. It’s gotten a lot better but there is still work to do. This sport is a unique challenge

And yes a committee will always be imperfect but how would you suggest it be done? Back to something like bcs? It can’t just be record in this sport

This is the best argument against what he’s saying. Notre Dame and Texas would’ve sold a lot of commercial slots
