New college playoff. Divide country 8 divisions (just like nfl) and do a 24 team playoff. 12 from each conference. It would allow the top 8 to receive byes. Let’s be real, nobody cares about Birmingham bowl or the independence bowl. Play for the natty

What’s the point in playing bowl games? A 7-5 team going against a 6-6 team? Like what’s the incentive in that

So you just want CFB to be NFL-lite… got it.

Back in the day when bowl games used to mean something, we need to go back to old conferences and minimize the playoffs. CFB is a regular season sport always has been and bowl games used to actually have meaning doing this would just make it a less talented NFL. Complete slop.

You are not an actual college football fan if you like this

My idea I keep promoting is to do Selection Sunday after the NY6 bowls, with a smaller playoff field. You get a traditional bowl season with stakes, and force teams with cupcake schedules to play an “equivalent” non-conference team.

That actually isn’t a terrible idea now I think about it

Notre Dame, Texas, Vandy would’ve all gotten their extra game and we wouldn’t have to do all the hypotheticals come playoff time

But did notre dame rly deserve it? How hard is it to join a conference and stop being stubborn?
