Miami already is being punished for not being in one bc they’re basically fucked now and probably going to the pop tart bowl instead of the CFP

SMU wasn't punished for losing the ACC last year. From what I can tell, the committee is open to lowering teams' rankings based on losing the championship but it's not open to booting teams out entirely if they had a spot going in. If you see a top ten team competing for a championship, they're almost guaranteed in the playoffs even with a loss.

Notre Dame should probably be punished more bc they’re not in a championship because they’re not in a conference (as opposed to losing one of the stupidest tiebreakers ever while being a top 2 team in their conference), but the committee loves them so they’ll probably get in
