1. They’re in a state that didn’t ban slavery until 2013 in a predominantly black sport. 2. Their nickname is the army that fought to keep African slaves in a predominantly black sport. 3. They have the second lowest endowment in the SEC (to Mississippi States). 4. They’re in one of the weakest states for recruiting in the SEC and they have to share it. 5. LSU is the only program that matters in one of the best recruiting states. 6. LSU has won a title in recent memory. Ole Miss hasn’t even won

It literally was. And yes I do think some black recruits care that a school glorifies the confederacy. Tuberville and the Mississippi State coach of the time said recruits were turned off by the confederate flags, which is why he got them banned. Why wouldn’t they care about other confederate references?
