They absolutely would. It’d be like basketball where every conference winner gets a bid

Why not? Seeing the MAC champion upset a 9-3 SEC team would feed families

Jmu vs Oregon last yr was a rlly good game. I think had they played ole miss instead, it woulda been even closer. Tulane was just poopoo.

Ya, no we’ve gotta get the best teams in. I maintain that they shouldn’t even be in the same league

Wouldn’t happen

Dude theres already precedent for g6 teams doing well. Boise state nearly knocked off texas.

Ya I mean big underdogs aren’t always gonna perform well that’s the nature of the sport. Hell, even Texas Tech and Alabama both just laid down and died in the playoffs last year

AnonymousOP8h
Boise state has literally never played Texas in history

AnonymousOP8h
That was Arizona State

Mb but still
1
AnonymousOP8h
Oh for sure. ASU was supposed to get ran through that game and they competed and even had a chance to win

Anonymous#48h
Boise a good team. Jmu was a good team as well. The fact that they dont get to play power conference teams as much is not their fault.

Anonymous#48h
I look at teams like 2025 UVA,JMU,BYU; 2026 oklahoma state, louisville. Even teams like boise western michigan, and NDSU. g6 may not be over the hump rn. But give it time.

AnonymousOP8h
It doesn’t need time it needs money that it doesn’t have
1
AnonymousOP8h
Definitely not. JMU has only been up a few years and good P4 teams don’t want to risk playing a good G6 team so their out of conference has probably been slim pickings
1
Anonymous#18h
Expanding to 24 teams should benefit g6 more than power conferences in that way. Look at what happened when we went to 12. Miami would not have been in the championship had it not been 12. Now what i CAN get behind is schools not playing fcs teams.

FBS teams pay a lot of money to FCS schools for that game. That money is critical for those smaller programs. You can’t get rid of those games without severely impacting FCS squads
1
Anonymous#47h
I disgree on this one. Thats why the idea for schools paying smaller shools for players that they developed comes in. Fcs is a different league so it doesnt make sense for fbs to play fcs. G6 is still fbs
1
AnonymousOP7h
I don’t necessarily disagree that FBS schools shouldn’t play FCS schools but that payday for most FCS schools is needed for the program’s sustainability
1

Thats why fbs power conference schools should pay those smaller schools for their players.

Well that’s an interesting proposition I haven’t thought about. I don’t have an opinion on that right now tbh I’ve never thought of it
