I dont understand conference loyalty. Like I HATE every team in my conference other than my own team. I want them all to suck, underperform, and miss the postseason entirely. Why do people fight about whose conference is better?
At one time you needed your conference to be good to make the championship or playoff. It still helps. So talking about how good your conference is helps your team.

Because I love my conference

Because there’s SEC fans who seem to think the playoffs should be exclusively SEC teams because it’s just a “different game” or whatever. So it’s not like I enjoy seeing OSU/Michigan win championships but it’s a bit vindicating

because if i say “All the teams we played/lost to were better than the teams in other conferences” it makes us look better

idk there are some conference teams i have a soft spot for and i’m ambivalent about others, there’s only a select few teams that i expressly dislike

Fair enough but Ohio State wins every damn close game we have. Now that Franklin’s gone, we can hope!

Same, as a Penn State guy, hate OSU, mixed about UM, respect both. Like Wisc. Used to love Iowa but have grown to hate them. USC is too much. The rest I’m neutral on except MD and Rutgers. Their hatred of us is entertaining.
