probably because the ACC, American Conf, and Sun Belt were only possibly in because of guaranteed seats, BYU was dependent on winning their championship, and the Big 10 is only "affected" because Indiana beat Ohio State. If BYU beat Texas Tech, they wouldn't knock Tech out. this is logically consistent

let’s be real here. big 10 and sec championships don’t matter because the teams that make it are good enough to be in the playoffs. big 10 championship just swapped the top 2 teams bc they played eachother. the rest of them only matter bc they rely on that to make the playoffs
