The NCAA is a horrible governing body that genuinely does not wish the best for every athlete

It’s crazy to think a body like this profits off all these athletes and institutions but can’t even enforce there own policies

NCAA is non profit. They don’t make any money

I literally wouldn’t have a problem if they just would enforce it equally. I was a walk on and got screwed by the roster limits I’m trying to fight it right now. But the NCAA doesn’t care about the dudes who don’t make them money.

I need a bit more context on this, are you trying to get extra roster space for your school so you can be on the team?

Basically I was in hs last year, was recruited then let go due to the limits. Now I’m at a different school trying to walk on

Are they saying you lost a year of eligibility from the year you were recruited?

Well… I didn’t get a DSA (thing that exempts you from roster limits) but I guess I did also loose a year of eligibility since I still went to college. That’s not a big issue at the moment for me.

But why would you be exempt from roster limits? Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but in my head roster limits are just a cap on how many athletes a program can have. If you got recruited and then dropped that seems more like the program over-recruiting and having to cut back than the NCAA screwing you.

Because of how sudden the limits were athletes recruited or on a roster before April of 25 that lost spots due to the limits got grandfathered in in June/july. It’s a little complicated.
