Why can’t they? Certainly they can argue it shouldn’t be counted at all. Maybe not take a win but remove the loss and operate on an 11 game schedule

ncaa has stood on the face this won’t happen in situations very similar like in 2016 for the central michigan and oklahoma state game they say the refs make the final say and it won’t be changed unless it’s a major rule violation
