I'd like 16 just to get rid of the first round byes. Let in a couple extra conference champions and a couple extra high-ranking teams and the top four seeds still have very easy weeks. A home game against an unranked conference champion when you're rank one is basically a bye week you get paid for. I'm always a fan of watching more football but there's not enough time to add extra weeks, so 16 teams seems like the absolute limit to me.
