I mean what else do you want them to do, they put their foot down and said “no he’s no playing next year” and the kid lawyered up and the courts made them let him play They aren’t useless, they just can’t defy court rulings

If they can't enforce rules then there are no rules, only suggestions. It's not even a sport at that point, just 22 grown men messing around in a field while getting yelled at by thousands of other grown adults.

What’s broken is anything they do can be sued and then an injunction issued to let an athlete play until it’s settled. No matter how stupid, as long as the suing party can drag it out long enough the NCAA has zero power to do anything

It’s an abuse of the legal system, but since there’s a ton of money to be made agents and players are going to keep doing it claiming “financial harm” for every injunction

And as soon as that injunction is handed down by the court, the NCAA *has* to let him play until the case is settled. And again, the party suing can just keep dragging it out until they know it won’t be settled until after the season’s over
