Did you see how happy that JMU player was to score a touchdown in a playoff game? He probably never thought he would get that opportunity. That’s what college football is about. If all you want is big brands playing go watch the NFL

and the thought of his parents, his friends, his teammates and coaches seeing how hard he and his team have worked to get here, this shit means something to me and i won’t be told otherwise

Dawg they’re down by 30? I’m sure a minor league baseball team would be happy scoring a run on prime Clayton Kershaw. Doesn’t mean they should be in the MLB playoffs.

I watch the NFL because the talent is exponentially better. It has nothing to do with branding.

No the point of the playoff is for the best teams to compete to win, this isn’t to make kids happy it’s to find the best team😂

I’m just a realist, bowl games are meant for what you’re talking about, playoffs are to find the best team. I don’t care about one kid scoring a touchdown while down 30

Look into your soul. You’re blinded by the playoffs. It’s these small moments that matter most

I wonder how the parents, families, and friends of the players who were left out of the cfp feel so we could let two G5 teams lose.

upvote 4 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #7 6d

Everybody knew this would happen. We let two G5 teams in the cfp lose anyways for the sake of inclusion. Wasted spots.

Championships and winning matter. Small moments made by G5 teams that’s lost like they were supposed to do is a waste of the good moments that would have been had.

Alternatively, if you can’t even win your fucking conference, you don’t deserve to even be considered for a national championship.

upvote 4 downvote

Anonymous replying to -> #6 6d

Bro who gives a fuck about a shitty G5 conference win? We let the G5 in because we felt bad for them and as expected, they lost. Wasted spots given to two teams that never had a chance.

The only teams that deserve to compete for the national title should be the twelve strongest teams in the country irrespective of conference autobids from the inferior group of 5.

It shouldn’t be about selecting the best team from every conference, it should be selecting the best teams period.

upvote 4 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #12 6d

Who gives a fuck about watching a team that failed to secure their conference championship get a second chance at a bigger trophy just because their fan bases are whiny little bitches? If you want to win a natty, take care of business at home first. Stop crying and blaming other teams for your own fucking failure to secure the wins.

Participation trophy mentality at its finest. It’s never “we lost the conference championship because other teams are better than us.” It’s “we lost the conference championship because every team is so good.” Bullshit. Get good. Win the games. Stop bitching and moaning like a fucking redneck boomer on Twitter.

G5 teams are literally inferior. No wants to see a low quality game being played from the inferior group of 5.

Yeah, you know who else is inferior? Runners up. That’s why they’re the fucking runner-up.

upvote 1 downvote

Anonymous replying to -> #6 6d

Including the G5 IS THE LITERAL DEFINITION OF PARTICIPATION TROPHY. They were only included because we felt bad for them. G5 inclusion is cfp equivalent of DEI.

The runner ups are better football programs than the inferior group of 5. Don’t act like Tulane or jmu could beat Texas, Vandy, or ND.

And now they’re out of the playoff. That’s how playoff brackets work unless you have trouble accepting your own defeat like P5 homers, especially their needledick parasocial fans.

so let’s get this straight. u want a bracket of all the conference winners? SEC or big 10 champs will win every year, maybe even an occasional ACC champ. we both know the other conferences would only end as “runners up” and that the 4th best team in either the SEC OR big 10 would beat just about any other conference champ. and if u don’t believe that, ur just plain stupid

Okay separate from the sports argument- G5 has some incredibly academic schools😭 Saying a school like Tulane doesn’t have brains is crazyyy. The only SEC school that compares academically to Tulane is Vanderbilt and only Big10 is Northwestern. I don’t even go to Tulane, but I just had to respond to this😭
