Might be true but I think it would set a really ugly precedent for them to drop 2 spots out of the playoff for losing the conference championship. If they were gonna be ranked lower than ND/Miami, it needed to be before this week. But if a team got dropped out of the playoff for two teams that didn’t have to play that 13th game, I don’t see why teams on the bubble would even agree to play the conference championship games anymore when they could just sit pretty and be fine
They barely lost to TAMU and Miami and they do have a ranked win over USC. They’ve played the teams in front of them and dominated them meanwhile Alabama has gotten worse. You can’t just write off the FSU loss for Bama while using the first 2 games of the season against Notre Dame.
Well then the schools would probably start lobbying the conferences to get rid of them. And then why would the SEC keep having the conference championship game if it can cost them a CFP spot? And if Bama could’ve been knocked out of the playoff with a loss, then they were on the bubble. The implication that’s what should’ve happened is an implication that they were on the bubble
