P4 is guarenteed an auto bid, 5 highest ranked conference winners, let’s say JMU and USF both win their conferences and are ranked 20 and 21 in the final CFP poll, SMU wins the ACC and falls at 22 in the final CFP poll, the 5 auto bids go to SEC, Big 10, Big 12 Champ (assuming they are all top 19) and then USF and JMU since they are the next two highest ranked conference champs, nobody really knows this because nobody ever thought it could actually happen

The committee just won’t rank one of them high enough. They aren’t held to a standard anyway and whatever P4 conference got held out would riot
