Unless of course the SEC, with its too-high money, becomes the destination of choice to high value recruits. Which it will sadly.

Not really. A lot of the big name SEC schools will still have that reputation, but a lot of ACC schools, for example, have high athletic funds because they have rich alumni. That’s why Virginia was surprisingly good this season, for example.

Also I will add: they were already paying players through the back door with that too-high money before NIL became a thing while everyone else played by the rules (the SEC was not exclusively doing this, but a lot of teams, like LSU, were). Now that everyone is allowed to pay their players, the SEC doesn’t have as much power as they used to.
