They don’t want conference champions in which would then defeat the purpose of conference championship week

Facts. One year a g5 team is gonna be overlooked because they are g5 and get in an upset someone and prove why we do this. Just look at Tulane vs USC from a few years ago that would’ve been a playoff game in the new format

Yep thats exactly what comes to mind for me too. Or Boise State at the Fiesta Bowl against OU but that was a minute ago 😭
