24 is better than 32 or 48. But 24 would add too many games after the lengthy season. These guys are more averse to injury as it goes on. 4-5 extra games for the final two teams. The 12 team bracket adds 3-4 games in comparison. Plus some of these teams play an additional Conference Championship game (don’t get rid of these please!).

wouldn’t be too bad if with a 16 format if nil is put in check and teams having a deep second team almost as good as the starters to rotate.

even then not worth it until it’s common that a g6 team goes far every other year
