People shitting on Raiola for going to Oregon and sitting a year like Dante Moore didn’t literally do the EXACT same thing

The problem is that one of those players is a future first round NFL draft pick and the other is Dylan Raiola

Dylan Raiola isn’t even bad, people just can’t see past the Mahomes thing. He’s been pretty solid at Nebraska and has a ton on potential still. Gotta remember how good he was coming out of high school. I can definitely see him having a fun time at Oregon

No dude. Dylan Raiola is nowhere NEAR the caliber of player he was touted to be. He did nothing to elevate the ceiling of that Nebraska offense the last 2 seasons, which is below expectations for a 5 Star QB. Not saying he couldn’t be good at Oregon, but if he puts an end to Oregon’s streak of transfer qbs by how bad he performs it wouldn’t shock me

I get what ur saying, I think the expectations that were placed on him at Nebraska may have been a little too high, especially when he was starting as a freshman. But yeah he didn’t bring back a crazy Nebraska offense like other people seem to have thought he would do. I think he was definitely a spark of hope for Nebraska, and a solid quarterback, and I think his ceiling could be Oregon Dillon Gabriel. I don’t think he’ll be a crazy Oregon legend, but he’ll probably be solid for them imo.

What I’m basically trying to say is, if he settled down somewhere and took the time to really get to know a program, which is hope he does at Oregon, he could be a good college quarterback. I’m just trying to be optimistic instead of sitting online and shitting on him the whole time cuz he didn’t bring back 90’s Nebraska or win the Heisman. (I’m NOT saying ur doing that, it sounds like u actually know what ur talking about)

I don’t even think the expectations for him at Nebraska were crazy, even as delusional as the fanbase appears. That offense has remained stagnant outside of him, the main difference year 2 was the effect of having better receivers and an elite running back. Regardless of the injury, I think there is little reason to believe that their record would be different without him. The most he did for that team was to energize the fanbase by showing that they can still land 5 star qbs

I highly doubt he’s going to do anything solid for Oregon. If anything, his expectations have now DOUBLED. It would be nice if the discourse was more positive, but that man has done nothing to worth any kind of positive press. I have not seen one person have anything nice to say about him, football or non football

Yeah fair enough, I don't have a ton of current Nebraska knowledge cuz I’m a UGA fan, so I can't really say much more than what l've alread said, but I really hope he finds his groove. I used to watch him all the time when he was a UGA commit in high school out of just pure excitement, and he was UNREAL and I hope we get to see that again at Oregon. It's definitely a gamble, but it could work out for him, especially with a loaded program like Oregon around him.

Yeah I haven’t heard too much about him as a person or anything, and I really just don’t care about the whole Mahomes thing, for example, like everyone else on the internet seems to lock in on. I just really hate seeing players waste their talent, and he’s definitely at risk of that and I hope it doesn’t happen
