This first round has actually pissed me off as a fan. The best game was last night and even tho Miami winning was close it was bad football…

Bad football > no football tho. These G5 blowouts are gonna be worth it for when one shocks the world

If you’re so scared of blowouts let’s just name a champion and not make them play for it 😭

It’s just not what I’d want to see in a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP game… which tbf we did see with UGA vs tcu. But with this year I don’t think we’re gonna have any more blowouts after this round. Maybe 10 point victories but nothing else

The second round sets up very nicely this year. People need to lower their expectations for the first round in these extreme hostile environments tho

This whole thing is just fucked. The one thing I like about nfl better is their playoffs because they don’t have a committee to vote on who should get in or not

Yeah I’d personally love to see something similar to BCS rankings so it takes out personal bias and motives. Have 1 autobid for the top G5 team if there’s one that is undefeated or has 1 loss. Add in qualifications so 2 loss G5 teams can’t get in and if you lose to a team that isn’t bowl eligible you also don’t get in

Any G5 team is now gonna be a bye

Not necessarily. Boise last year wouldn’t have been a bye. There’s been some G5 teams that have competed. Tulane beat a top 10 team just a couple years ago. Cincy was only down 2 scores heading into the 4th of their playoff game. 17-18 UCF would’ve competed. Same with the old Boise teams

That’s just Penn state being ass they couldn’t blow out Boise… any other competent team would have put bta against Boise

You’re right with UCF and the old Boise teams but it’s just so rare that it’s gonna happen once and then they’ll lose in the next round

Penn State did beat them pretty good. I’m saying they would’ve potentially gotten a home game last year in this year’s format. They also did only lose at Oregon by 3 that year. And the other teams I mentioned still would’ve definitely competed in a 12 team playoff

You might be right. UCF and Boise would’ve competed the next round tho. They both upset top 10 teams. They’ll more than likely never win a natty but neither will any double digit seed in March Madness but it’s still fun watching them try. And let’s be real no team ranked #12 is gonna win it all either
